Discover Bustos: Minasa Festival 2012

Welcome to Bustos! We are on our third-and-a-half year living in Bustos, Bulacan. Last November 30, 2010 was our 1st year staying in Bustos. Living in Bustos was hard for me at first because I grew up in Metro Manila. I missed my childhood friends and had to adjust on my new environment. On the 2nd year, I feel comfortable already. I had adjusted to my new place and started to love and know more Bustos. And somehow I just met few new friends. 

Exploring more about my new home, I remembered when I'm on my way to school in Manila (FEU) from Bustos. An event posted at the munisipyo of Bustos caught my attention. "There must be something new in Bustos!" What I'm talking about is the Minasa Festival. I wondered if it was Bustos' trad event, I guess it was for the first time to happen. It was even featured on a morning show of GMA-7. While I was riding in a Baliwag Transit bus, I saw Bustos' Minasa Festival currently airing at Unang Hirit.

For the 2nd year of Minasa Festival in Bustos, it would be more exciting and fun. Jam-packed with interesting activities, fun-filled competition and games, and many more. I was even thinking if I could join a photo contest. It was an opportunity for me as an aspiring photographer. Thanks for Tito Zaldy's Canon EOS 60D DSLR. I got to explore more about photography and share what Bustos could offer and share to people. I could take captivating and historical scenery around BMA - Bonga.Menor, Bustos Bulacan. I can't wait to share it to everyone. Let's discover Bustos. :)

ReQuest Dance Crew in Manila

America’s Best Dance Crew Season 6 finalist and Two-time World Hip-hop Champions just arrived in Manila- Philippines. 

 

“I found my new inspiration” – When it comes to dancing I always find my inspiration to perform better and motivate myself to be the best. ReQuest Dance Crew just entered the list of my inspiration.

These girls from New Zealand rocked the stage of Irwin theater at Ateneo last Nov 16. Before that, two dance crews in Philippines performed as front act- Legit Status and The Crew. At first, I was not really a fan of hip hop thing. I never joined street dance competition or alike. I rarely appreciate hip-hop dancers before. On the contrary, today I can’t explain how much I adore dancers who can break dance, vogue, crumping, etc. Different dance crews were just introduced and familiarized to me by my new group- D’ Shots (3^rd Grand finalist of Showtime). Big thanks to them for influencing me to another aspect of dancing.

As far as I know, RQ crew had three performances in Manila. (Correct me if I’m wrong) First stop was at Ateneo de Manila University, where I attended with friends. The best P200 concert I have ever watched in my 20 years of existence.  The audience was full of zest to scream and show their fanaticism to the NZ-based dancers. The former courtside reporter and softball varsity player of UP Fighting Maroons - Riki Flores hosted the dance concert. The second performance I watched them was their guesting on ASAP. After that, they went to Glorietta for another show.

I’m still hoping to see and watch them up-close. Even to meet them in personal when I go to New Zealand. They dance as if there’s no tomorrow. Their craft for dancing is something indestructible.  No one can obliterate their knacks for it. They are unique and incredible girl group. Even though, they didn’t win the crown as 6^th Season Champ for ABDC but for everyone they always got the crown everywhere they go. It’s their trademark their glorious and astonishing crowning moves.

Vice Ganda’s Unkabogable – Praybeyt Benjamin

It was holiday so my cousin decided to go out with her mom- my aunt. They invited me to watch with them the talk-of the-town movie Praybeyt Benjamin. Others said that we would have a hard time to score tickets and seats since a lot of people are also dying to watch it. But then, when we arrived at SM Marilao, luckily we got 3 tickets for us. The only problem we had was our seats. It didn’t have a good view. In our situation, we were like watching a theater play.

Forget about it. That’s fine. The movie was worth watching. Two words to describe: Laugh trip. As I was watching the entire film, I almost forgot the people around me that I really laughed hard. If you have copious worries and problems facing at this very moment, well when you’ve watched this incredible movie you might forget everything and even who you are.

Vice Ganda is a natural comedian. I’m proud of him because he never forgets where he came from. Take note, he’s a true-blue Tamaraw. Going back to the movie, when I had the second-time to watch it I’m still excited. I just pretended that I didn’t know the story but at the back of my mind I already memorized how they threw lines.

I really like the movie because it’s a new flavor that will give excitement and entertainment to the audience. It oozes with a cute and not so boring story. They leave a valuable lesson to a relationship in family and friends- a never-say-die attitude, love and respect.

To get my school id- that's my purpose of urging to go back in ABS-CBN (and not to watch Showtime). I never thought  I would stay there in a couple of hours. I just found myself exchanging conversation to the folks there. I just want to get my school id. That's it. But before the day of Showtime, we had a shoot for a commercial in ABS-CBN. I have to leave my school id to the lobby so I could have my access card to get in and receive my talent fee the night before Showtime. And as I was going home, I didn't notice my ID with me. Yes, I left it. So I planned to just go back there the other day.

So it's Saturday, it's eviction day of Hurado/s in Showtime. As I was walking in the aisle of the main building where the studio of Showtime and other shows are located, I saw Kuya Audy. I remembered him as the FEU Cheering team's talent coordinator of the 2009's special edition in Game Ka Na Ba.

Kuya Audy asked me if I know JayR, I answered back that he's my friend. He approached me to get inside the dressing room and set of Showtime. Then, I met Doc whose name was kinda familiar to me. This day is JR's leaving and bye-bye as being the noontime show's hurado. 

I had fun! I accidentally got to watch showtime for the nth time. I also thank JR for riding back in FEU.
